Artistic Team

As the artistic director, Professor Anne Kohler is responsible for the ongoing vocal pedagogical work that cultivates a cohesive and distinctive sound for the top ensemble. She leads rehearsals and conducts concerts for the National Youth Choir of Germany, with support from musical assistants and vocal coaches. Additionally, guest conductors collaborate with the ensemble on a project-by-project basis.

Prof. Anne Kohler

Anne Kohler studied school music, choral conducting and singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and with Martin Schmidt at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. She deepened her training in master classes with Eric Ericsson, Frieder Bernius, Volker Hempfling, Tonu Kaljuste, Jens Johansen and members of the "Real Group".

Anne Kohler has been a professor of choral conducting at the Detmold University of Music since 2009. There she conducts the chamber choir and the jazz vocal ensemble "Pop-Up" and trains a major class of choral conductors. Anne Kohler has guest conducted state youth choirs, chamber choirs, the SWR Vokalensemble and the Rundfunkchor Berlin, where she has rehearsed for Marcus Creed, Pierre Boulez, Sir Roger Norrington and Ingo Metzmacher.

Sybilla Rubens

Sibylla Rubens studied concert and opera singing in Trossingen and Frankfurt am Main. As a highly sought-after singer, she has performed globally with conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Christian Thielemann, Kent Nagano, Helmuth Rilling, Hartmut Haenchen, Manfred Honeck, Sir Roger Norrington, Herbert Blomstedt, Michael Gielen, Marc Albrecht, Marek Janowski, and Riccardo Chailly. Rubens served on the board of the Leipzig Bach Society for 10 years and directed the oratorio class at the Leopold Mozart College of Music at the University of Augsburg from 2014 to 2016. Her artistic versatility is showcased in approximately 100 CD recordings.

Gabriel Galíndez

Galindez Cruz studied dance and choreography at the Centre National de Danse Contemporaine (CNDC) in Angers, France, and at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (HfMDK) in Frankfurt, Germany. Since 2004, he has performed on international stages in works by choreographers such as Sasha Waltz, Toula Limnaios, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Grayson Millwood, and Hyoung-Min Kim. He was also a member of the Staatstheater St. Gallen and the Sasha Waltz & Guests Company.

As a choreographer, he has worked with the ŻfinMalta National Dance Company in Malta, CREA Bogotá Dance Company in Colombia, Radialsystem Berlin, Sophiensaele Berlin, and FELD – Theatre for Young Audiences Berlin. His work includes collaborations with conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada for the Colombian Youth Orchestra and the Houston Symphony Orchestra. He has also choreographed for director Olaf Strieb at Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord and for director Malte Kreutzfeldt at Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and Theater Kiel.
