In summer 2022, just one year after the National Youth Choir of Germany was founded, the first trip abroad and meeting with the Polish National Youth Choir (Polski Narodowy Chór Młodzieżowy) took place. Under the title ‘Spirit of Nature’, both national youth choirs worked on a joint German-Polish programme with works by Johannes Brahms, Michał Ziółkowski, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Karol Szymanowski under the direction of Anne Kohler and Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny, alongside a commissioned composition by the young Polish composer Zuzanna Koziej. Joint workshops, voice training and a colourful evening rounded off the musical work.

Concerts under the shared direction of Tristan Meister and Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny took the two youth choirs to Görlitz and Wrocław at the Narodowe Forum Muzyki as part of the Lusatia Festival and to the Philharmonic Hall in Kraków.
