In September 2024, the National Youth Choir of Germany made a musically journey through Sweden, characterised by intensive collaboration with local artists and youth choirs. Under the direction of Swedish guest conductor Cecilia Martin-Löf, the choir prepared an a cappella programme focusing on ‘German poetry in Swedish music’ and Edward Elgar's ‘The Music Makers’ in cooperation with the Dalasinfoniettan chamber orchestra.

Joint rehearsals and concerts with the Eric Ericson Kammarkör, the Lund University Choir, the Kungsholmen Gymnasium Chamber Choir and the Hedvig Eleonora Youth Choir offered in-depth insights into Swedish choral culture. An intercultural workshop on Swedish folklore with musicians from the Dalasinfoniettan and students from Falun Conservatory and a performance at the German Embassy residence in Stockholm rounded off the programme. The varied repertoire, including works by Rehnqvist, Olsson and Stenhammar, emphasised the close cultural ties between Germany and Sweden.
